(625 posts)All-dressed (French: assaisonnées or French: toute garnie[1]) is a potato chip flavour popular in Canada.[2] It is a combination of ketchup, BBQ, sour cream and onion, and salt and vinegar. LAY'S introduced it in the US this year but it is hard to find. Convenience stores with lots of snack items may have , supermarkets not so much so far.

(60,613 posts)came across snarky. I thought you meant turkey dressing.

(176 posts)I bought a bag of store-brand potato chips at a local Fred Meyer store. When I opened the bag I saw that they were way overdone. They were dark brown, not golden brown. They were also the best chips ever! They should start selling them like that on purpose.

(599 posts)Plain Lays is my current favorite. If it were a little easier to find Old Dutch Onion and Garlic, it would be a close toss-up.

(39,153 posts)Better Made is a local Detroit brand (but you can buy them on Amazon), and they're perfect for adding to a sandwich for that crunch or eating with dip (Lipton Onion Soup and sour cream only, so I can control the salt content). I'm not a big fan of flavored chips, but the Salt & Vinegar chips are good with plain sour cream.

(7,078 posts)I found these in my supper market in Munich.
I like the mature cheddar, and the sweet chili and red pepper.
Really good, solid chip, crisp since they are English. They get hidden in the pantry....

(7,078 posts)We limit ourselves to a bag of chips per month. They are a bit pricey but the bag gives 4 servings. I weigh two out and close the bag and put it into the cupboard before serving. Otherwise......

(29,406 posts)The midwest Meijer grocery store (and a lot more) chain recently added its own top-shelf store brand by the name Frederik's. They have several different flavors, and I was an instant fan of the avocado-cilantro-lime version. Sad to say, my local store has stopped carrying that flavor.
One of the things I like about the Frederik's potato chips is that most bags have several instances of 2-3 chips getting folded up on each other/stuck together in the manufacturing process, and those clumps of chips are extra thick and crunchy.
