Yep. Love the little girl-- What was the best part? Leaving. And can relate to cancellations, and hate making phone calls Silent Type Aug 2025 #3

I especially felt for the serious little girl who thought the best part whatever the event had been was leaving.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've done that.

Cheers, fellow introvert!

I agree with a lot of what was shown in the video and DU posters thoughts. I'm not anti-social but I just don't need to be around people for prolonged periods unless there is something we're doing together. I've worked as a precinct inspector during elections where I'm the one in charge of setting up and running a voting location during elections and that's tolerable. Greeting, checking-in voters, and helping them was no problem because it only took about a minute to do that.

As for the phone, anything over two minutes is too long. Just tell me what you want to say and be brief.

One thing I definitely don't like is someone coming over to my home unannounced. I normally don't let anyone in my home so uninvited "guests" are out.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
