I want to be a Butterfly
Imagine you start, an egg laid on leaves,
truly amazing, what your journey achieves.
Lots in common have you and me,
as youngsters, we eat, sleep, poop, and pee.
As we grow and prosper while devouring our nest,
do we see our future? or hope for the best?
Our metamorphosis is kind of, like puberty,
A little more drastic for Pupa like me.
Low and behold, like you I've become,
A whole new creature, dependent on none.
All of a sudden, so many colors so clear,
and unlike before, to you I'm now dear.
Much like humans, I now must go breed,
find a good mate, and spread my seed.
It's only later, that I find my true call,
to bring a message of love, to one and all
To have this power, to offer comfort and bliss,
My remaining life's purpose, do only this.
In spirit and reality, I sure would love to try,
To live the hallowed life, of a Butterfly.
