My folks were out of touch (well, not completely, they were clearly in touch for at least one night in April).

I asked if she had been born on Christmas. She said her birthday was September 25th, but allowed that she may have started as a Christmas present.

In the steamy and torrid heat of summer when we all liked Ike. I occasionally celebrate my birthday on Mothers Day. People getting awfully busy in December because they forgot a Christmas present? Improvisation?

I know if I did that, there would be no baby-making activity!

What happens in early October that is national?

I was born in 1945. My dad was in the Army during WWII, but had a bad back, and got a medical discharge - I'm guessing sometime in October of 1944 because I was born in early August. So, although I was born 5 months to early to qualify, I consider myself a boomer.
