Cats are far more social than people realize, and having more than one feline is wonderful.

I learned this when, several years ago, the neighbors across the street knocked on my door, holding their cat Tony, and said, "We're moving, and we can't have a cat in our new place. Will you please take him?" Well, of course!. He'd been visiting me regularly, and he and Tatiana, my first cat, already got along. These days the two play together the entire day. The best part is that they don't need much attention from me at all, so I don't feel bad if I'm gone all day.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
