I just thought I'd share my reasons for including Robert specifically in my Good morning greeting. It is my every prayer that somehow SCE gets to see that he is important to us every day and if we can brighten his day a little it would be an honor.
Please have a special day, filled with opportunities to say kind words, offer smiles, and to see all those that do so much to make our days better.
Thank you for doing that for me every day DU.
Love, John

(29,805 posts)...is complement people I don't know. This opportunity most often occurs in a checkout line at the grocery store, or passing in the parking lot. If I see a woman with a great haircut or elegant manicure, an attractive outfit or shoes, a beautiful engagement ring, etc, I will make a favorable comment about it. No one has ever taken offense. People don't hear enough positive things much of the time, so I try to make a bit of difference in that.
Being a woman myself, I don't direct such comments to men, as I wouldn't want to it to come off as any attempt at flirting. At 74, I look old enough that I will comment on a cute baby or small child to a young dad.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
