It blooms only once a year, late at night, pollinated by moths, so we watch for it every night when it looks like it's about to pop. It's a big flower, very aromatic, worth the wait just to smell it. It's native to Mexico (not Minnesota) so it has to spend its winters inside. This year it was kind of a dud, just bloomed about halfway because its chosen night was cold and rainy. But here's a picture from last year:
