The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support Forums21,000 posts as of today. I'm getting blisters typing all these posts!
Raising hell, as always.
Sorry I don't frequent the lounge, or I'd spend all day (and night) here.
That's because I care too much , not because I don't, and especially since I used to beat my family at trivia and jeopardy.
Toooooo tempting.
THANKS TO EVERYONE who rec's my posts.
They reward my hard work copying and formatting long emails I receive, provocative and techie posts I find elsewhere and WACKY MEMES and GRAPHICS I create.
My 21,000th post was in the Veteran's forum, advising vets on what services are open for business and which aren't during the shutdown (less the idiot lies in one boilerplate paragraph)
I create. I curate. I berate!
For the best audience anywhere,
You're great.

(55,527 posts)"The phrase "I've got blisters on my fingers!" is not a lyric in a Beatles song, but rather an exclamation by Ringo Starr during the recording of their 1968 song "Helter Skelter". Starr was drumming so intensely that his hands became injured, and his frustrated remark was captured and can be heard in the final version of the song on The White Album."

(55,527 posts)I just played the song on my turntable (I have 2 White Albums) and I still remember all the lyrics, now my neighbors know them as well since I play my records on #11. I became a huge Beatles fan in 1978 and all of their songs are burned into my brain (that's a food thing).

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
