We do several gem shows in the fall, so I'm busy creating stuff. In between are church activities, working at the shelter, and watching football.

travel up (or down south) the river road that run along the Mississippi River (Illinois side), the leaves changing their colors along the road on the way are amazing, plus there are a few places to stop, grab a bite to eat, and even perhaps a ferry (it may no longer be in service) where you can cross the river back to the MO side, and eventually get home via Interstate 70.

It's a nice short round trip to enjoy...

There is a cider mill a short distance from my house. If the wind blows in the right direction I can smell the donuts when I wake up.

19. Observing the changes in nature from inside.

Preferably in pajamas, bathrobe, and hand-knitted socks. With a good book, some relaxing classical music, and coffee or some hot chocolate.

I saw a lot of nature close up when I was in the Army. Don't need to see it anymore.

One of the first things early humans did after discovering that nature is too (hot, cold, dangerous, unpredictable, or just plain uncomfortable) was try to distance themselves from it. Caves, lean-tos, huts, hats, clothing, shoes, etc.

I prefer to be only on a nodding acquaintance with nature whenever possible.
