There is no way humans could ever be good enough to be worthy of the unconditional love dogs give to us. This isn't a dig on humans, but rather a testament to unconditional love that dogs give so freely, they are truly God like in that way.

I don't believe in God, but if I did, I'd think God created humans and thought "Poor creatures with your big ruminating, curious, wonderful, dangerous brains and your primitive tribal instincts, I've given you all a damn hard row to hoe. Let me give you dogs, the supreme embodiment of love, to help you out."

He's so worried about his grandma. That panting is an indication of how stressed he is. What a wonderful dog.
