since the playoffs started.

This is my 61st season as a Dodgers fan, and I have an emotional connection to Seattle. My hometown had a minor league club that was a Mariners affiliate. I went to almost every home game and knew some guys who made it to the bigs, llike Jeff Nelson and Omar Vizquel.

But then, the minor league club's shorstop one year was Gary Varsho. His kid, Daulton, is with Toronto.

Daulton came up through the DBacks organization and played for the Hops in Hillsboro (pretty solid player)...a number of good ones have come through here; Dansby Swanson was a 1/1 pick and played his first pro game here and was clearly a special player...had season tix for the Hops first ten years...btw, Hillsboro was the home of both the Hops and the Canadians in '21 (covid related border issues)...there was a game in our yard 6 days per week that year...things starting getting harder when MLB took over and the NWL became High A instead of short season low A...going to night games in April and early May can be a fairly miserable experience...enough rambling...cheers, OSD

Good evening, all...life long Giants fan here (went to C'stick in the early 60's, had a Giants hat signed by both Mays and McCovey)...I'd prefer the Mariners but will consider it a great year if the Dodgers lose the WS...before I post, I must tip my cap to Shohei (that was incredible performance)...alas, baseball has become a distraction now as the republic collapses...a grumpy old lefty in Oregon...cheers, OSD

man, he was a Giant killer (for one day, at least)...didn't see that game (growing up in Salinas at the time)...would only get to the Stick once or twice per summer...listened to Lon Simmons on a small transistor radio (back then KNBR could come in clearly all over NorCal at night)...both the Braves and your Dodgers provided more than enough heartache in those days...before Ohtani came on the scene, Cloninger's 2 slam performance was not likely to ever be repeated by a pitcher...nothing that guy does surprises me anymore ...oh well, time for winter now...cheers, OSD

East side, right down the street from El Sausal Junior High. Paroled from Alisal High in '74.

The team can retain Andres Munoz for "just" $7 million next season, but I think it's likely they'll extend him longer than that.

Naylor and Suarez, late-season pick ups, are both free agents. Maybe the Mariners bid enough to keep them. If not and the front office finds replacements of their caliber, then you've got to like Seattle's chances next year.

The pitching staff is very, very good, even if some of the ALCS performances weren't quite up to par.

Played in the spring. Japan won the latest edition, in 2023.

Teams are built from national star players, rather than from participating countries’ championship pro teams. Doubt rich team owners will ever let that change.
