(43,094 posts)are two from a small brewery east of Portland, Ore. -- Full Sail Amber Ale and Full Sail Wassail Ale. And they're really good!
Of course, people's tastes in beer vary widely. For example, I'd use Guiness, or most any other British beer, to clean a carburetor. I like crisp, fruity ales, even though I drink maybe twice a year now.

(7,026 posts)I was in Utah, which most people understand to be behind the times in regard to anything involving alcohol. Anyway, premium beers for us were Michelob and Lowenbrau. The state-run liquor stores did have a decent selection of imports like Guinness, Samuel Smith, etc., but nearly no U.S. made craft beers. The local grocery stores could not legally sell any beers having over 3.2% alcohol, which eliminated a good many beers.
Believe it or not, the craft beer industry in Utah really boomed when the state decided that they could sell Utah made beers of higher alcohol content in the stores. Oh happy day!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
