I have just moved and need to get Debrox because I don't know when I can get to my doc and have her remove it.
How do you cope?

(1,266 posts)Put the drops in an ear, use foam earplugs to keep the drops from running out and let them soften the wax for 10-15 minutes before using the syringe. You may have to do it several times for heavy buildup.

(434 posts)My mom put that stuff in my ears when I was a kid and to this day (half a century later) my ears hardly produce any wax at all!

(29,207 posts)Been using it for around 5 years now and have not had any problems with wax build up that I used to have at least 4 times a year. I use it after every shower..
Not shilling a product here, just what works for me...
It's called a "smart swab"

(37,132 posts)A water pic flosser. Put baby oil in your ear overnight to soften the wax. In the morning fill the water Pic with warm water, then rinse the wax out. Start with low pressure and angle the flow toward the inside wall of the ear canal, away from your eardrum until you get the hang of rinsing out the chunks and bits. Adjust as needed. You could finish with swimmers eardrops if you want fast drying.
I do this. It works way better than debrox, IMO.
