7. I used to mostly listen to Wes Hopkins' program.

In addition to playing the music, he did goofy skits as the Tooth Fairy and one called Super Chicken. (Hey! I wasn't but a tween at the time, so easily entertained.)

We picked up those playlists, new every week, in the record departments of the department store. What I really miss is that they played multiple genres so we were exposed to and gained appreciation all kinds of contemporary music.

ETA: Purely coincidental, I heard Hang on Sloopy by The McCoys incl. a young Rick Derringer, while I was out running a couple errands today.

2. I lived near Mansfield during the 1960's. Remember the Music Explosion? Lemon Pipers? Ohio Express?

Great bands way back when. Some had limited national success, others didn't. But it was all fun!

We used to go to Snow Trails Ski Area just about every Saturday night to hear one of the bands. It was funny, too. I encountered the Music Explosion on a trip to Florida after leaving Ohio.

James Fox, later with the James Gang was the drummer for The Outsiders.

The guitarist for Glass Harp, Phil Keaggy lost part of a right finger at the age of 4.

My brothers and sister loved WIXY. So did I. My parents didn't My sister would leave the car radio on full blast and my Dad was surprised, not delighted, when he drove it after her. Good times
