Living rooms are useless. I used to think the front coat closets were too

I’ve never known anyone who actually uses their front room. Years ago we put our Christmas tree up in our front room just because we were never in there. Once. We put it up in our tv room/ den that was really one big room with the kitchen.

When we were looking at houses to buy 6 years ago, I had a running joke about always checking out the coat closet near the front door. Seems a terribly antiquated idea. Usually they weee just used as storage as we did everywhere we lived. Then in this one house I opened it up to find an electronic mainframe. This house was wired.

We actually use our coat closet for our everyday coats, shoes,….and storage.

I haven’t rooms in my house I haven’t been in in months. The spare bedroom and the “office” which is just another bedroom really.
