(7,511 posts)We still miss SCE, but you are doing a great job following his lead.

And, yes, I miss the posts from SCE, too.

I have been busy lately and forgot about looking.

(23,102 posts)Here are a couple of links to alternatives:
https://alternativeto.net/software/imgur/
https://alternative.me/imgur
Apparently imgur is no longer available in the UK:
I wish DU allowed direct uploads but I can see many reasons why that is not advisable.
Marthe48
(22,869 posts)If they can use the sites you mentioned, I can try them
Thanks!
Sorry I am not sure, I do appreciate that you are trying to find a solution.

(10,799 posts)If I pretend I'm in Canada it's OK.
I'm sure the reason is because of the UK Online Safety Act and that the picture hosting company hosts NSFW images and rather than comply with UK law they decide to just block the UK instead.

. until I saw the one where the listener looks pained as he sings. Reminds me of the faces around me when I sing. And I love to sing.
My son says that my singing makes peoples ears bleed.
The pastor of the church where I sing in the choir (he knows I dont believe any of the dogmas but I translate to allegory, symbolism and poetry) says that I cant carry a tune even with two buckets.
I love singing call-and-response old Gospel songs in Alamogordos AME church.

(11,639 posts)It was an image that I added to one of SCE's OP's when he invited us to add our own that particular Sunday.
I'll post here if you want to have the image.

(4,491 posts)For a bit of respite, recovery from the challenging political climate, I had really come to look forward to his posts on Sunday morning.
Again, thank you
Niagara
(11,639 posts)However, I did carry Mr. Scorpio's Halloween countdown OP's, with his blessings of course.
Marthe48
(22,869 posts)I really enjoyed your posts last year and this year. Before that, memory is a blessed haze
Niagara
(11,639 posts)I reached out to Mr. Scorpio in 2024 and he wanted someone else to carry the torch that year. So I did the countdown.
Again, this year I reached out to him and he said life was keeping him too busy. So I told him that I would do it.
Next year, I'll reach out and ask him again since it's technically his Halloween countdown that I'm doing.
I'll always ask him first.

(22,869 posts)There will probably be repeats from SCE's posts, but I hope not often
I don't even know how many Sunday LOL Cats he posted, but there were a lot.
Niagara
(11,639 posts)Repeats are always welcomed on my end.
I've had that mother/cub tiger image stored in Imgur, which it seems like a very long time now.
Thank you for all your hard work. I know it's not an easy chore.
Here's to SCE!
Niagara
(11,639 posts)Thank you, Marthe48. Happy Sunday!

(22,869 posts)I'm trying to locate a specific print from the same artist, but I haven't found it. I don't remember the exact title. But I like all of the illustrations by him that I've seen

(26,116 posts)to get your first meme to show up exclaiming "First!"???
I would have needed most of the day, with a calculator and a spreadsheet. I might even have consulted AI.
Thanks, Marthe!

(22,869 posts)I remember when SalmonChantedEvening posted Sunday LOL Cats, several people had an informal contest about who was first to post. When I saw that one, had to use it. And it had to be first. He always put the photos last, so I'm doing that to create a post that follows SCE's plan.
I find the memes in different places and upload them to Imgur. After they're uploaded, there is a rearrange feature for each post. I try to have the memes uploaded and in order before Sunday morning. To be sure they copy as an image, I click on each pic>open in new tab and then copy-paste the link address. It took me about 20 minutes today. It's been trail and error to find a way that works for me, and that I don't have to relearn every week. If I get the post up before 7:30 a.m. you can bet your bippy I haven't had much coffee!
True Dough
(26,116 posts)And I'd like to bet my bippy but I lost my bippy in a foolish wager years ago. Should have known better!
I'll look around. Maybe I have a couple of spare bippys to send you!
