Reading a great new book by John U. Bacon: "The Gales of November: The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald. "

Why the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald has never been made in to a movie is beyond me, but if it ever is, it should be based on this book!

The human stories of the crew, the incredible storm on Lake Superior, the actions of the Edmund Fitzgerald contrasting with the actions of the Arthur Anderson that was following about 2O miles behind the Fitzgerald, and findings of the investigation.

It's long and detailed, but I highly recommend it as an escape from the current madness.

Honestly. I would not go to see it if Lightfoot and his masterpiece were ignored. Hell, he and that song MADE the Edmond Fitzgerald known--something countless thousands of other shipwrecks in the Great Lakes are not.

His writing on the Halifax explosion is riveting.
