(1,179 posts)Very powerful stuff! My high school sweetheart wore Hai Karate. After our breakup, circa 1970, I couldn't sit near anyone in class wearing that cologne because it would make me feel so blue. IMHO, Hai Karate had quite a kick!

(39,205 posts)as a young teen (I'm sensitive to many perfumes & colognes -- they trigger migraines.) Later, I switched to strawberry oil from a head shop that opened up in Petoskey, lol.
Old Spice always reminds me of my dad. He'd put it on everything -- sunburns, cuts, whatever. Sort of like the father and Windex in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

(18,593 posts)Since Proctor & Gamble, in their infinite wisdom, changed the formula for OS in the US as their customer research indicated that the rising generation were tired of smelling like Grandpaw, I have to get mine imported from overseas, where they still adhere to the original scent. Fortunately, I don't use it much.
Old Spice's slogan used to be "If your grandfather hadn't worn it, you wouldn't be here." Which is quite funny, really, since Old Spice was first put on the market in 1937, and my father was born in 1929.

(11,876 posts)It's inexpensive, it doesn't give me a headache, it doesn't make me sneeze like crazy and it's a subtle fragrance.
I still wear it today I like it that much.
One year, I accidently asked for Jovan Wild Musk for Women, not realizing it wasn't the Coty brand. I can't wear the stuff without suffering from a headache and a chronic sneezing fit.
I still have the bottle of the Jovan so if anyone wants it, it's yours.

(75 posts)was my favorite. One year while I was in college my dad gave me a bottle of Chanel number 5 for Christmas. He was a product of the Depression, frugal and practical to a fault, so I was really touched by his gift. I used it sparingly so it would last as long as possible.
