They both ARE undefeated, and ranked no. 1 and no. 2 in the entire country.

(7,048 posts)Because the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the entire nation, both undefeated, will have decided who is the better team. What's more National Champion than that?

(7,048 posts)I think the national championship playoffs will just be a do-over after tomorrow night, and won't have much more weight than the bowl games. This scenario is unique to this year, because the top two teams are in the same conference, so more than likely it won't happen that often.

(9,862 posts)My Nittany Lions won't go to the national championship, so anyone from my conference is OK. Just NOT an SEC team. I have to defend my conference down here in SEC country.
