(195,588 posts)We tried to explain that even stuff at the Dollar Store (at the time) were really $1.05 with tax.
Another coworker remarked about her, She has every dollar shes ever made buried in coffee cans in her backyard
At a pot luck at work, she brought in a banana and chopped into enough slices for everyone to have one. A banana. One.

(9,386 posts)Just a lightweight household type cord is what I need. I have a dozen heavy duty extension cords from 50 to 150 ft but not just what I need for an application in the house. No kidding, that is the number one item on my wish list this year.

I regifted it the next year. Gotta admit the title was creative.

(22,186 posts)I loaned a friend of mine $5,000 one time and took his boat as collateral. It was just before Christmas time.
He had me over to his place at Christmas and told me he was so grateful for the loan that he bought me a very special Christmas gift.
He handed me a beautifully wrapped little box...he was making a big deal about it before I opened it. I thought it was an expensive watch or something.
I opened it up, and I had no idea what it was.
It was some cheap little plastic thing that was supposed to be two balloons or something. Probably cost $0.99.
I just looked at it and said "What the hell is this thing?" while he and his wife laughed their asses off.

(57,930 posts)being asked by a teacher at my school to lend her 2000 dollars for Thanksgiving and Christmas and utility bills
. No collateral(silly me) I went to the bank and withdrew the money. She said that she would pay it off at 25 dollars a week. Then I found out that she was using the money to buy her adult son bangles and tech stuff. I asked for the money to be paid off by the end of March. She paid me. Never talked to me again. I learned my lesson.

(22,186 posts)I would not have loaned them the money if they were not. They paid me back with interest.
They were just ball-busters...like most of my friends!
