Frequently replenishing my plate from the bottle of ketchup that I sit next to me so I can re-squirt after dipping each fry for as much ketchup it can possibly hold.

I used to like it when I was young.
When I traveled to Europe I bought some fries from a vendor in Amsterdam and was given some golden mayonnaise as the condiment. The vendor didn't have ketchup so I ate them his way. Yum.
I don't eat lots of fries anymore, but when I do I use a salad dressing or salsa, and if I have any--homemade mayonnaise (but I'm usually not home).

8. Condiments should be unnecessary

Proper American fries should include the potato peel for more flavor. They should be seasoned with salt and pepper. I rarely use ranch dressing, but it is good as a dip for fries that are bland.

9. I rarely use a dip for my fries. 🍟

Sometimes, I will put some ketchup on the side but it just sits there. I do like ketchup but like the taste of French Fries with salt more. Same with hard boiled eggs🥚 No salt or pepper. I love the taste of ‘just’ egg.

mix some ketchup with barbecue sauce and have that on the side with the fries.

they don't need much...alternate between nothing and a small glob
of ketchup or cocktail sauce ...beside the fries
