I bought it at the Grocery Outlet.

I thought I had a deal.

It seems odd. I checked it out further and it is from Australia and the same brand was/is being sold at Walmart and was recalled in the past.

Yuck!

I cannot bring myself to try anymore of it and glad I only bought two packages of "it". I think I will throw the rest of it OUT.

On edit ... more info. here (it is Thomas Foods in New Jersey that imports it from Australia): https://thomasfoods.com/

A batch of it was recalled from Walmart due to e-coli:

>>Several recalls have involved ground beef sold at Walmart under brands like Thomas Farms and Marketside Butcher, primarily due to potential E. coli contamination, with major recalls in June 2020 (around 43,000 lbs) and others in 2022 and 2024, impacting products from producers like Lakeside Refrigerated Services and Cargill; consumers with affected products should check the specific dates and lot codes on packaging and dispose of or return them.

I eat very little meat. Being it said organic and grass fed, I assumed it was from the USA.
WRONG!
My cats weren't interested in it either!

Lucky you ... I guess!

Is $9.99 a pound. It's just my husband and me so we can manage, but I don't know how families are able to make ends meet. Food banks in our area are pleading for donations of food or money. This can't go on.

Been doing really good for almost a year now..can’t remember when I last had red meat and have backed off on meat, in general. I’m not fond of chicken so I’ve tried other ways to get protein. Plus, just today, I was told my tests showed that I have acid reflux so my whole diet has to be critiqued and that will include my love for citrus 😢 I’ll be checking the cooking forum for some ideas!

Now this is BAD for me:
hot cider, warm apple pie, hot chocolate,
warm brownies, and then borscht, all root veggies.
I have learned to be satisfied with, "just a taste".

Write down what you eat and you will see a pattern.
I have found Tempeh is a tasty meat substitute.
