So many branches were snapping it sounded like gunfire.
On a different note, weve had some cold temperatures this week, and a rumor has been circulating on the internet that it will cause trees to explode. Absolutely stupid. Its been a hell of a lot colder than this, and in my more than seventy years Ive never seen a tree explode.

(57,396 posts)4. I lost 30 trees like that in the ice storm of 2009 in NW Arkansas. Couldn't open one house door. Cost of clean up: $10K.
