I lost 30 trees like that in the ice storm of 2009 in NW Arkansas. Couldn't open one house door. Cost of clean up: $10K. sinkingfeeling 13 hrs ago #4

So many branches were snapping it sounded like gunfire.

On a different note, we’ve had some cold temperatures this week, and a rumor has been circulating on the internet that it will cause trees to “explode.” Absolutely stupid. It’s been a hell of a lot colder than this, and in my more than seventy years I’ve never seen a tree explode.
