then he hated getting hosed off after.

Like that. And as it would happen we lived a few blocks from a beach on Lake Michigan and we'd walk them there everyday. They even wanted to go in the winter but we said no. Once inthe winter in the really cold (January) the lab got the idea he would go in and jumped off the pier. My husband had to jump in and get him out and then both had to walk home wet and freezing. Lucky we lived close.

His back legs would bounce while the front legs moved him along - on the way to the water.
