The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDU Heart Contest: Give or Receive a Heart to Someone You Think Has a Really Cool DU Name.
I've given away more than half the DU hearts I bought, mostly to people I admire or who have posted things I really think wonderful, informative or both, and have 18 left.
I would like to save 5 for people who write posts that I really like between now and Saturday, leaving 13 I need to hand off before Valentine's Day.
I propose a contest. Share with me a DU name that strikes you as really witty or cool or interesting and if I agree with you I will either give that person a heart or give you a heart, your choice. Please do not post your own DU name. (I realize this gives me subjective license, but well, I feel entitled to it.)
Feel free to participate in helping me unload 13 hearts before it's too late. I may not get to it tonight, but I will read the responses and will hand out the 13 hearts by tomorrow night at the latest.

(37,622 posts)...a heart, and if you can come across a post by Attillatheblonde, post a link and a heart will be given if some remain.

Popular guy, that Hun, among DU names.

By being a poor cut and paster however I did learn that there are many variants among DUes who admire the Hun enough to appropriate his name, one t, two ts, one l two ls with a number of additional terms added, including two referring to color, At....theblonde and At...theblue.
When I was young I thought I was a good speller until speller checkers disabused me of that inflated opinion of myself.
As I age it gets worse, although spell checkers can do horrible things to words, particularly in technical writing, not quite as bad as ChatGPT, but close.
What is even worse for me with my fat fingers is typing on a cellphone as I am doing now. Speller checkers seem not to save me from having "the" come off as "tge" because g and h are adjacent in the small QWERTY keyboard.
I do hope you were not offended by my crime, to which I pled guilty without Pam Bondi showing interest whitewashing my criminality, the crime of failure to cut and paste.
Have a nice day.

I recall that before I was banned there for telling the truth I had a very nice friend at DailyKos with whom I'd interacted for a long time - she wrote a regular series on writing. At some point in our interactions it came out that I was a man.
She expressed as one can express on a website that I was a man, using several questions marks and exclamation points.
"You're a man??!!??"
I hope it wasn't too much disappointment.
I assumed for a time that 2nasalit was a man because I believe she drives an over the road truck which rightly or wrongly we associate with being a "man's job."
What is important about any of us is not our gender or lack thereof. What is important is that we are human beings above all. We generally don't have problems knowing that here at DU. Humanity is a wonderful feature here.
