Friday Night Vodka Buzz. Ask me anything.

Two shots to get the party started. Now, a Tokyotini. Citron vodka, saki, lemon juice, and ginger simple syrup. Yummy!

Hope everyone is heading for the exits of this funhouse mirror version of the USA. Maybe if I drink enough, I can pretend it’s 2011, or some other, better time.

I love you all…

For those of us who are sick and tired of our country starting another unnecessary war, do you have any words of wisdom? ☮️

I have no wisdom to impart. I keep thinking we’ll stop with the wars of choice. But we never do.

to another era, or oblivion. Doing my best to try to outlast the scum.

However, I did run across two cocktails that piqued my interest, and wondered what you might think of them. The first one obviously brought you immediately to mind, the Deshler, described as a "fruit-forward Manhattan". The second is the Prince of Wales cocktail, which apparently has a fascinating history.

Never mixed either one before. As stated above, I have a fairly well-stocked bar. But it has never included a bottle of Dubonnet. I’ll have to get one. And I have Angostura bitters and orange bitters, but not Peychaud’s.

I really don’t like rye whiskey, so I no longer keep it on hand. I could probably attempt a Deshler substituting bourbon, Chambord, and Angostura bitters. But then the question arises: how many substitutions can you make before it’s no longer the cocktail you intended to mix?
