A couple of decades ago, this site allowed constructive criticism of our own. The few liberal sites that existed before DU helped DU get off the ground. I mentioned Newsom supporting Greater Israel and it got deleted by admin here. Tough love. We must be allowed to criticize our own or fall into the MAGA cult. An oldie but goodie from Bartcop: I pulled this comment by "Skinner" who I think founded DU, in the Bartcop thread he writes: Back in the days when there was no "liberal blogosphere" or "netroots"; there were only "anti-Bush websites". Before DU there was Buzzflash, Smirking Chimp, and BartCop. That was pretty much the entire liberal presence on the internet. Bart gave DU a prominent link on his homepage, and sent us lots of traffic. I think it is arguable that he did more for DU than anyone else on the Internet. Thank you, Bart. RIP. I know there's no whining about DU but I couldn't find a place for feedback so my bad and delete this post. Thanks!
