Just in a ranting mood

I paid off my Apple card balance and got an email from Apple Card Support acknowledging. 4 hours later got another email from ACS that my account is due in 7 days.
Stupid automated inteelegenc.

Hen I got an email from CVS Care Mark a phamacy benefit manager that sends me my prescriptions. It said that I needed to update my payment method NOW if I wanted to receive my drugs. This is the 2nd time CVS Care Mark has done this in the 16 months since we were changed from Express Scripts to them. I really don’t like the PBMs but at least Express Scripts was run compentantly.

The other complaint I have with Care Mark that didn’t happen with Express Scripts is auto refill. If a prescription gets redone by the doctor’s office it is no longer on auto refill without any warning.

That’s enough. I feel like the old man (I am) waving his cane at unruly children.

1. While we are ranting

I tried to get my cardiologist to send my medical records to a new cardiologist I'd been referred to. It's kind of a long story--he was leaving the state so I asked him to refer me to a practice nearer my home, which assigned me to a nurse practitioner who was nice enough but extremely flaky (forgot to send in half my Rxs, etc) and I was just extremely dissatisfied with her, so I asked my PCP to refer me to this new one. I hadn't heard from them, so I finally called them. WELL. Come to find out they won't accept me without my records, SO I called both places. One sent me first to a number which was nothing but commercials, and then to a website which apparently doesn't exist. The other sent me to a website which was deemed "too risky" by my computer for me to access. WTF? Sooo, back to square one. Fired off a message to my PCP asking her to call them and have my records faxed. AUGHHHHHH!

3. Our medical records were supposed to be easily transmitted

I underwent chemotherapy locally but the surgery was to be done at a sister hospital in the Texas Medical Center. The doctors in Houston would want the text and imaging results of scans. Text okay, but I had to mail CDs of the imaging. They sent the text by..............

FAX☹️🤷‍♂️

Mind you both hospitals are in the same system, and yet cannot communicate.

5. Nobody knows what's going on anymore!

I went to a new podiatrist recently. Told them when I made the appointment, they aren't in network according to my insurance but I don't care, I'll self pay. Have to give them my insurance anyway when I get there. They look at it and say no they aren't in network. I pay.

Get a call yesterday that someone submitted the claim anyway and it looks like they might actually be in network because the insurance company accepted the claim. I fully expect the claim to be denied but oh well.

But nothing beats the year my insurance company assigned me a PCP that was not in their network.

2. My first "real" job, the boss told me on Day 1 that the most important thing was service to the customer.

"We sell three things here. Service. Service. And service. If they don't like our service, the customers will go somewhere else and we will all be out of jobs."

Boy, those days can't even be found in the rearview mirror.

Big Business can't afford customer service anymore. They have us by the short hairs and they are taking full advantage. Going somewhere else is useless, because A) they all treat customers the same and B) there are too many monopolies.

How many times have you been caught in a loop on a help phone line or a company website? How long have you waited on hold until an automated voice comes on and the voice will not offer what you want? How many times have you been put on hold for half an hour by a machine when a single question and answer from a real person could clear things up in a minute?

If you think this is bad, wait until AI takes over.

4. I spent an hour and 20 minutes holding on a call to Walgreen's yesterday.

Placed the call at 12:10 p.m., and got a recording telling me there were three calls ahead of me. Since it was a "must" call, I decided to wait, only to finally hear "The Pharmacy closes at 1:30 for a half hour lunchbreak....*CLICK*."

6. a few weeks ago I posted about talking to a bot

I think the bot was pretending to be a human because it just could not grasp what I was saying to them.

And ya gotta love when you call a place and they give you four options but none of them apply to you and none of them take you to a human!
