It's Apple proclaiming loud and clear "we want something because we feel like we're entitled to it."

At a quick glance around the room I'm in now, I count no fewer than 15 items that match the iPad shape. Whether or not Apple intends to sue me for having a clipboard next to my desk, and even if "it probably doesn't matter," they're still assholes for pursuing this patent.

2. I'm still amused by FaceBook trying to trademark "Face" and "Book".

That just cracks me up.

This Apple thing is a riot. Every laptop in our house (HPs) has rounded corners. Even the 27" monitor has rounded corners. Does Apple think they invented the quarter circle?

6. These days you have to patent every single thing. Or someone will and then sue the hell out of you.

It happened to me. I am afraid to write programs for sale any more for that simple reason.

One group recently tried to patent and "electro-luminance device that when an electrical current is applied to a resistive element, light would them emanate from the device"

It was not allowed I think. But that is how silly things are.

By the way that description describes a light bulb. They were applying for a patent after the fact.
