Whenever you feel alone, remember that the Demodex mite lives on your face.
To it, you are EVERYTHING.
To it, you are EVERYTHING.

(11,998 posts)7. I don't know if anyone remembers my eyelid problem that I had in February of 2025

I thought I had a sudden case of makeup allergies but it was blepharitis.
The WellNow I went to told me to stop wearing makeup for awhile. They instructed me to place a warm washcloth compress on my eyelid. This is a terrible idea to be honest. It was either too hot or it didn't stay warm enough for any length of time. I even put a small wet washcloth in the microwave and put that small heated washcloth into a larger wet unheated washcloth but it still didn't stay warm for any length of time but at least this wasn't too hot for my eyelid!
Amazon sells heated eye masks for blepharitis issues that one can put over the eyes for an even distribution of heat but I wasn't paying this kind of money for this eye mask, especially an item that I would use for only a short time.
So, I got Johnson's baby no tears shampoo and I washed my closed eyes and eyelashes with the baby no tears shampoo while taking a shower in the morning.
I got Stye Eye Relief Serum off of Amazon and it's also for blepharitis. I applied this to my eyelid and eyelashes in the morning.
Before going to bed I coated my eyelids and eyelashes with Vaseline for about 10 to 15 minutes. I already use a conservative amount of Vaseline on my face to remove my makeup on the nightly and then remove both the makeup and Vaseline with witch hazel soaked on a cotton ball. Witch Hazel is a natural astringent that I've been using for years, it's much gentler than Clean & Clear or Seabreeze astringents.
Then I applied the Stye Eye Relief Serum again before going to bed.
I did this routine for awhile and the cursed and obnoxious blepharitis went away. Apparently I had an over population of demodex mites??
Another thing that I did, I use to use the same towel for 2 to 3 days after showering to dry off. I stopped doing that and now I use a fresh towel after showering every single day. It sucks because now I have more laundry to do but at least my eyelid isn't jacked up!
