(26,349 posts)who would "talk" everytme he was spoken to. He did not imitate human words, but he would go on indefinitely as long as I kept up my side of the conversation.
He greeted me at the door every day when I came home from work. I said. "Hi Alex" he meowed. I asked. "How was your day?" He responded with an ongoing series of meows as if telling me a long tale. I responded with, "Really? And then what?" Another series of meows."
I had another cat later who was also a Siamese mix. He did not try to say actual words, but used the same expressive tones that people use. You always understood how he felt about something. When I was having a conversation with friends, he would "participate" with little sounds in tones that fit the conversation so well that people would crack up laughing.
I had to go into a separate room and close the door when on the phone because he always tried to chat with me when he heard me on the phone.

(12,950 posts)He also was chatty. I had to tell him quite down many times when I would catch him talking with Oprah.
