That's another $100 per ft^2 higher and KW is absolutely non-expandable because the open area is water in every direction.
There is no possible way any area of NJ is worth over $1k per square foot, especially on a property that's only 100 square feet bigger than our house.

7. Also, this reminds me of something...

I've seen some reported listings cheat on the square footage.

That second floor probably offers little reportable living space square footage.

That's a steep pitch on the roof, and there are knee walls up there.

Sometimes, when the square footage of a home is reported in a situation like that, floor measurements are taken from wall-to-wall. However, living space square footage should only be reported in areas that have a ceiling 5 feet or higher.

So if you have a steep pitch upstairs, you should only measure your square footage where the ceiling is 5 feet or over, not were the roof attaches to the top plate, where the ceiling height might only be 6 inches.

Edit to add" Looking at this further...the second floor is likely just an attic and not included in the square footage because there are no windows up there. So if all of the square footage is on the first floor...the width of that building looks to be 10-11 feet based on the doors and windows. That means the length is a little over 44 feet.

I think it's a cute little house, but I'm trying to figure out what justifies a $500,000 price. Probably its proximity to NYC. It's 13 miles away from the George Washington Bridge.

Assuming no bad traffic ...13 minutes to the GWB, then a few minutes on the Cross Bronx Expressway, the maybe FDR Blvd into Manhattan. Probably less than 40 minutes to get to work in Manhattan.

But again, I wouldn't do it.

Recreational Resort Cottages have much better looking homes. I started watching Mr. Tiny Timmins during the pandemic. The Armstrong model is my favorite single section (not exactly a tiny home) having 3 bedrooms ,2 bathrooms at 18x78 with 1365 sq feet. Keep in mind I hate gray flooring and electric ranges but that can be changed. It was 101K 5 years ago, not sure what the price of it is now. The homes don't come with land.

Then there's this actual tiny house, the interior tour starts at 14:00, they sort of ramble nonsense for the first 6 minutes. This model isn't made anymore, it's a 10x40 with 400 square feet. I would change an abundance of things in this but my list is extensive so I won't mention all the things that I would change but I like the concept. The company (Incredible Tiny Home Inc., Incredible Properties, LLC) is in some serious legal trouble currently with multiple issues.

I like the floor plans and the rod and shelf in the closets. Most home builders including average homes have that terrible plastic/vinyl racking in the closets.


I don't see too many kitchen cabinets that I like no matter what video I watch, it must be a "me" problem!


I think that 499K for the property that you posted is way too much. I noticed that the regular homes weren't much better on pricing so it must be an expensive area. Yikes!

But in place with a lower price range & I was down sizing sure. I just don't like windows that are at eye level that close to the ground, where someone can just climb in. It would have to be up on some sort of support. Bogota is more expensive than national average, by like 25% or so.

The outdoor toilet facilities were primitive and definitely non-compliant with city code. I showered at a gym; an awkward story.

It was all better than living in my car.

This house is a mansion in comparison.

The road by this house makes me nervous. I think I'd surround the house with steel or concrete bollards. It might be possible to disguise them as a fence. It's too easy to imagine a drunk driver taking the place down.

The backyard of this house is large enough for a nice container garden.

There really ought to be houses like this scattered all over the place in every neighborhood. Unlike this house, they ought to be affordable.

52. I don't see too many things wrong with this property except the price and the placement

of the microwave. Microwaves being placed above ranges is unsafe for any age of people. I know they put them there for "space saving" but in the event that hot food or beverages scalds the hell out of the person removing the items it wasn't worth it.


I'm sure that anyone unhoused would be thrilled to have a place like this to cover their everyday basic needs. Meal prepping and cooking, hygiene opportunities, and a safe place to sleep. That's what went through my mind viewing this property.


I don't see anything wrong with the back or the side of the house because it has a privacy fence. And there's no yard to mow so less physical labor for maintenance. A couple of nice colossal boulders could be placed on the other side of the fence near the street.
