(60,347 posts)I got out of bed and she needed to go right now, no waiting. She usually waits until I am out of the shower and dressed.
Today, she needed to go out before my shower, then again once I got dressed.

(6,011 posts)she wants to make sure the dog, or the visiting grand dog, next door don't need through-the-fence supervision, or, on the other paw, some food thing could be going on in our kitchen?
She's 12 years old, and it has become a bit nutty lately.
She was treated for a bladder infection, but she's not going out to pee, just to sniff the air and peer between fence stakes at the shadowy dog shapes beyond.

(6,011 posts)after our last cat died. My husband cut a hole in the outside door and made a little sliding door to close it, and I put a flap on it. Our old dog, when she was a pup, kept using it, until one day she could no longer get through. My husband said we should have made a cloak of rough sandpaper for her!

Arggh.
