entry. You know the drill - you go to the doctor as you have something major wrong with you. And they show you this poster, and it's supposed to let you explain your pain.

Well, boy oh boy,. did Hyperbole ever have a field day with that!

all the more so because I used to write "alot" a lot... a friend of mine and I were bored senseless in a meeting, oh, decades ago... and started wondering what "a/muck" was, or "a/lert" was ... and a/lot got thrown into the mix.

Very funny. Thanks for posting.

Did you ever see "Private Benjamin?" In one scene, they're about to go out and play war games. The sergeant is briefing them, and tells them that there are mines out there. "Most of them are inert, however some are ert."

Don't worry. My wife knows that. And I'll never get close enough to even touch her hair, much less lay her (Goldie that is).

The reference is "Be ALERT! The world needs more Lerts."

Love it!

I feel the same way about Mariska Hargitay, and Mrs. V. knows it. Once we were watching an episode of SVU. There was a shot of Olivia in heels and a short-short leather skirt, walking across a wet street at night. The camera focused in on her feet as she strolled across the street, and panned up slowly. After the camera finally found her face, and once I caught my breath, I said to Mrs. V., "wow, did you see those legs?" and Mrs. V. said, "she has legs?"

That reminds me of the T-shirt with an upward arrow that says "my eyes are up here."

First of all, Hyperbole and a half has been offered up an advance, on a book that was supposed to be released this past Fall. (September/October maybe)

Sad news is she has to refrain from adding new stuff that is really funny to her site, as it might conflict with her book. (Or maybe it is just she needed to pull her funnier stuff into the book - that is another explanation.)

Other sad news - I can't figure out where to order her book. Info about that probably exists on her website somewhere - but if the book is out, I'd love a copy.
