Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI think something is dying in my back yard.
At first it sounded like rock being smacked on rock. But then I realized it was too rapid. It could be a chittering frog, but I don't think frogs chitter. It could be a possum in heat, maybe? I don't know. Anyone have an idea? It's 8 at night over here, so it's either a day time animal that is being killed, or a night animal in heat.

What is a "chitter"?
What makes you think it's dying?
Have you gone to look? (got a flashlight?)

(52,719 posts)I think it's a frog, dammit. Strangest frog I have ever heard. It sounds like someone is squeezing its throat. But he likes it.

(37,648 posts)If you think someone is harming him, get yourself out there and stop them. You need a flashlight. Time's a wastin'. Get out there and take a look.
My guess is when you go out there, it'll stop. That's what frogs do.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
