I have a seriously hard time creating one.
I don't particularly need or want anything. Anything I want or need, I tend to get immediately.
So, since I am part of a Secret Santa arrangement, I need to create one. I have a 75-120 price range.
Any ideas? What are your wish lists?
I am going to regret asking this aren't I?
I want a rice-cooker, a bar-tools set, a soda-stream, a percolator, a lot of liquor (I don't drink, I just really want a home bar), pour-over coffee-maker, a used fixie, a new helmet, clothes, vacuum cleaner, ionizing air cleaner.
What I don't want is books...I have 4000 of them. Every year I get nothing but books and money...and I never spend the money on the things I want, it always goes to needs.
I have tons too.
I still don't want a reader though, and I am going to be an extreme late adopter for a tablet.

(21,020 posts)resistors too until about 2 years ago when I decided to try a Kindle and loved it.
My book "collection" grew steadily. Earlier this year I gave that Kindle to a granddaughter and got a Kindle Fire.
My book count is up around 800+ and I just bought a movie I can watch on it.
Still have regular books...mostly my favorites that I read over and over again that are not yet offered for the Kindle, but the book clutter around the house has dropped way down.
I can imagine how bad I would be.
That's why I am resisting so hard.
Besides, if I get something I might as well get a lap top that converts to a tablet.
Just waiting to see how good those get in a year or two.

(21,020 posts)for the convenience of others than myself, since, like you, can pretty much buy my own stuff consists of:
some costume jewelry bracelets, rings, can crushers for my kitchen, peppermint foot lotion, a Maternal Line Origin DNA test kit (yeah, I really do want one), Jelly Belly bubblegum flavored jellybeans, cast iron wok (I have stainless one but want iron), extra wide sunglasses (for people with fat heads).
That's my actual Christmas wish list. My regular wish list (stuff I will likely buy myself) is about 10 pages long but has on it a grow-your-own mushroom farm, a cheese making kit, sugar plums, a marble mortar and pestle set, books on French Canadian history/heritage, and, for some strange and perverse reason...fake barf (I already bought the fake dog poo).
I am just having a hard time figuring out what to place.

(1,353 posts)I asked for, and got, a whoopie cushion one Christmas. The grow your own mushrooms are a lot of fun, I highly recommend them!

(12,132 posts)lol, kidding - I love to get stuff. I enjoy the spirit of giving and encourage others to give me as much as possible.
My wishes are a new pair of Allen Edmunds shoes, a new pair of glasses (My prescription has changed enough that I get headaches reading now), I saw a cool Movado watch I like but it's way too much for a dumb watch.
And the Deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day on Blu-ray.
A watch... I haven't worn one in years.
I asked for shoes last year and got it. I don't think I should ask for another set.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)it does get a bit boring but I kinda have a thing for nice shoes. I base my shoeing on the theory that a man should never wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row and I prefer to go 2 days before repeating - but I need more pairs of shoes to make sure I can cover the 2 days AND have shoes that match whatever I'm wearing. I am also a very firm believer that comfortable, well made shoes will take care of your feet and if you take care of your feet they will take care of you. And AE shoes are made in Wisconsin.
I have a Citizen eco drive watch but that's over 10 years old...I've seen some lately that were really nice but I'd rather spend the money on shoes lol...I'm not a fan of these giant face watches though...I have no idea what's stylish but if that's it I'll just have to be a fuddy duddy with my small watch. Maybe medium would be ok.

(8,217 posts)I have 4 pairs of dress shoes, pretty much all Kenneth Cole Reactions. One is about to retire, so I guess I should get another.
I have 2 pairs of running shoes which I use for work outs, and another 2 sport shoes just in case. I even have one of those Vibram Five Fingers for kicks and giggles, which I use for running now and then, when I want to punish myself.
As for a watch. I have a non-working Pocket Watch that my sister got me a long time ago. I never decided to change it, and I have a cell phone which I use for keeping time.
I don't particularly go for too stylish and I go for comfort.
It seems like my list this year would be mostly free weights and dumbells.

(8,217 posts)I'll place that on mine!

(10,777 posts)But only once I've finished reading all the "real" books in the top of my closet.
I'd really love to have a 64GB iPod Touch. I could fit *all* my albums on that. Living with only 5 Yes albums on my old 8GB iTouch is just misery. What if I want to listen to Tormato? I have to go to my PC and do a rotation! You won't get one of those for $120 though.
I've really enjoyed my Keurig coffee machine.
I got a pretty neat little digital amp for $99 through Amazon.
hmmmmm! What else?
Those Jawbone bracelet things that monitor your diet, sleep, and exercise habits look interesting.
An honest to god turntable with some vintage LP's. (I already have some LP's, but nothing to play them on.)
I've got lots of wants, don't I?
So far, all I have now on my list is a messenger bag, and a bunch of weights.

(32,988 posts)I listen to music all the time. I will take CDs, new or used.
Since there is already too much stuff in this house, I like things that can be used up. Give me homemade breads, scented soaps, lotion.
Xyzse
(8,217 posts)Problem with me is, I have a weird taste in music which makes it hard to buy CDs.
Generally, people like what I listen to though, so that just goes to figure. They just don't know what I already have. Which is why I never ask for music. Still, sounds good.

(50,566 posts)One of the coolest gifts I've received is an immersion blender. I make creamed soups (such as potato-cheddar) and smoothies and this thing makes it all so much easier.

In fact, I just bought myself a crock pot recently.
I think a steamer would be awesome too.
Although, that does look cool! Is that one of those blenders that you stick in to a glass and it blends the stuff for you? How hot can it go in to?
Arugula Latte
(50,566 posts)I've blended soups when it has been pretty hot, not far from having been boiled.

(250 posts)For joy to come back into my life. The bubbly fun loving woman I used to
be 3 years ago, To be able to laugh and giggle again. All the saddness of
the past to be wiped away. To be able to forgive and forget the people who
have hurt and confused me.
Also for the panic attacks to stop and to feel happy again.
And, not forgetting.....enough money to buy lots of edible goodies..mmmm yummy

(8,217 posts)When my father died a little less than half a decade ago(4-5) years, I remember having panic attacks months afterwards.
He was so young, and he had his first stroke when he was younger than me.
It is when the doctor said I may have hyper tension. Thing is, when they put me on medicine, things just got worse for me.
I stopped taking it, and started doing really hard exercise programs and most of those things stopped. My BP went down, and the panic attacks have gone to a minimum.
I have my male best friend to thank for that one. He bought me Insanity, and said we would do it together. He didn't, but I did, and have been trucking along ever since. He also finished the program this year, and it has done wonders for him.
I hope things work out for you as well, and hey DU seems to be a decent resource.

(250 posts)I saw that Insanity on the shopping channel, Im not sure if Ive got
the stamina to do that program. Think I will stick to my bike for now

(8,217 posts)I must admit, first day I tried it, I thought I was going to die...
Seriously.
After the work out, as soon as I got in to the shower, with the hot water going on me, I thought I was going to pass out.

I really only want one "thing" --- satellite radio for inside the house (I have it in the car already).

(43,850 posts)We have a little bedroom that's been the castoff room for everything. I put the exercise bike in there and realized that I actually like it, and I need my own office rather than writing on the sofa with papers piled all around me and the dogs trying to get my attention.
So my hubby and sons are clearing it out and putting in some shelves, and I'm looking on Craigslist for a used sleeper bed so it'll double as a guest room. But we never have guests really, so it'll be mine all mine!!
Oh, and for all the children of the world to join hands and sing songs of peace...
