When the deck is passed to you with the request "Cut 'em", how do you "Cut 'em"?

Do you cut thin? Thick? Cut it in three? Tap the deck with your index finger and nod at the dealer?

Me... I cut thin or not at all.

If you REALLY want to be annoying, you tap the deck straight on the table, feel the edge, announce "they've already been cut", and without looking, pull out the ace of spades, face out, while announcing "ace of spades".

They won't even let you PLAY cards again after that.

When I think about it though, that's pretty dumb. I don't know why you'd be playing cards with someone you didn't trust enough to tell them you don't trust them.

I do not like playing with people who are superstitious and do little rituals, so I pretty much show them that I don't care for them.

That's pretty fuckin' judgmental if you ask me. I've played everything from 5 card draw to 7 card stud to Hold 'em and every variation in between and I find the idiosyncrasies that poker players have to be quite entertaining.

But you actively show people you don't care for them, huh? I guess I know who won't be invited to MY next table. Goodness...

I was ambiguous as well: I was saying that I don't care for the superstitions, not the people. But the people can get on my nerves to, like the ones that tell me to take the sucker bets because they are taking them too.

But actually, isn't the purpose to beat everybody else at the table? To take their money?

persons get under the skin of others though while sitting at a poker table. And if you're not playing calm, cool, and collected, I'm going to take your money. Most of the people I play with will as well.

I can break a sweat and check the bet while holding a full-house, and smile over a pair of deuces or vice-versa. Most people don't know how to take me.

My favorite poker game though is and will always be Five Card Draw, Jacks or Better.

It's a nice one-handed cut that looks really elegant, but isn't that hard to do with a little practice. It's easy to expose cards with it though, so I wouldn't use it in any kind of money game.

There's also a neat one where you spin the top packet off of the bottom packet using your index finger as a pivot point.

Oh, and I'd be wary of anyone preferring to cut the deck in thirds, since that is one of the easier ways to do a fake cut.
