3. Okay, just had a bowl of cereal for dinner. Woke up to snow this morning, so didn't go out.

The rain has taken it away. I'm hoping to be able to get out Friday, have presents to deliver and need to snag a few other things.

Christmas will be over so I'll be here for the holiday. Only thing giving me a time is my hip.

About to go investigate Iron Man. Hooray! Superhero movies that don't make me want to lead an Equality Now! March down Sunset Boulevard. They pass the Bechdel test! Costumes that include both professional uniforms, real scientist clothing and functional female armor! Women using brains and kicking ass! No hapless females in need of rescue!

i am counting my first day off a sucess. had an appointment with my doc this morning, came home and did some cleaning with my husband and then set about making an incredible dinner. i baked a loaf of bread and made a giant pot of incredible beef stew...garlic, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, beets and green beans...i think it was one of the best meals i've ever made.

then we went out for frozen yogurt, because that makes perfect sense when it's 18 degrees outside.

now i'm trying to figure out what is going on with this movie i'm watching on one of the spanish-language channels. justin timberlake and morgan freeman may or may not be journalists, ll cool j is some kind of criminal. i haven't figured out how anything really fits together, but it's what you do when you don't have cable

anyway, it was a good day

I'm okay. Today was a pretty good day. Tomorrow is mental health day at the clinic. Everybody will want their meds refilled, so it will be busy. But just two days until a four-day weekend! Looking forward to it...

16. Well, my schedule for Friday doesn't look too bad, so far.

Fridays are my days at the mainstream clinic. No homeless patients, so that means my productivity expectations go through the roof. Sometimes I'll see as many as 24-25 patients on a Friday. Crazy...

MISERABLE week after the shooting. I've just got one more day before I get a week off, and I kind of need it.

I can understand the horror that the Japanese felt in James Clavell's "Shogun" when they discovered that Europeans of the time bathed as little as possible...

30. It does, and keep in mind that any advice I give is predicated on the fact

that it's not my job that is at stake.

If there has been a breach of ethics, and you are aware of it, the ethical thing to do is report it to the ethics board. It's easy to imagine someone accusing you of being vindictive or ambitious, but then, the ethical breach wasn't yours, was it? And no one forced them to commit a breach of ethics.

I'll be pulling for you. I hope you get the position. Experience and superior knowledge ought to be enough to swing it, in a perfect world. This isn't a perfect world, of course, but who knows? Maybe your potential employers will do the right thing simply because it is the right thing.
