(2,289 posts)I didn't want to get up unless it was below 30. In Austin, that rarely happens.

In Pennsylvania, just rolled my shirtsleeves down until January or
so, when I'd wear a light jacket 'til it warmed up.

But one of the SURE signs of aging for me is my susceptibility to
cold. Over the last 5-10 years, I've gone from just a sheet on my
bed (even in the RV -- where I still don't know to this day whether
the heater actually worked or not -- didn't use it) to a blanket to
two blankets and ('til I lost it somehow in a move) an ELECTRIC
blanket!!!

60 degress?!?!? The landlord has us on an honor system of 70 degrees
and that can get me shiverin' on a cold damp day.
.
Though I've kicked it up to 71 or 72 on days where I wasn't feeling
well -- and that's made ALL the difference in the world.

(22,057 posts)I think it is a function of aging. I don't like to be cold any more-there'll be time enough to be cold during my long dirt nap.

(66,316 posts)describes the pleasure a young boy derives from sticking his foot out from underneath the quilts & covers on a cold winter night, letting his leg chill for a few minutes, then pulling his leg back in under the covers to warm up. I used to do that when I was a kid; I loved the reminder of how nice and toasty-warm it was under the covers, when all was freezing-cold outside...
