(33,688 posts)wonderful "The Deptford Trilogy" for the first time in more than a decade. Lovely stuff. Just finished Anthony Summers' bio of Tricky Dick Nixon "The Arrogance of Power." I'd forgotten just what a crazy shit Nixon really was even after living through his entire administration.

from their book/magazine section. I'm about halfway through (in
little 10-minute-at-a-time bursts) James Patterson's "Worst Case".

His novels are filled with little two- and three-page chapters that are
just perfect for this kind of venue!!!

(on edit) He writes light fiction about horrible serial killers that are
pretty good suspense thrillers, but his law enforcement officials
(usually a male-female pairing from different bureaus) are always
annoyingly acting like junior high school students as they wonder
if the other cop "likes" them or not.
