The Universe is Paying Me Back

I have complained for the past several years that we haven't had any snow here in a long time and that we would probably never see a white Christmas again.

Well we had a lovely soft snow on Christmas Eve and though there was none falling on Christmas day the 3 to 4 inches we had stuck around for just the right picturesque touch.

Tonight, however, may come the revenge for all my grousing. My area in the Finger Lakes is predicted to get 14 inches of snow with high winds.

I didn't mean that much mother nature..

It has already started falling. I have my phone charged, the hatches battened down, food, water, candles. flashlights, my Zune and My Nook, though so I should be good. Plus my neighbor just brought me a tin of Cookies.

But this should teach me.

...and didn't see hot chocolate anywhere! C'mon! You've got cookies and everything...

So hot chocolate, cookies, a warm bathrobe, slippers, and no place to go: sounds like an ideal day to me.

back atya!

Especially when the guy came to plow our 250' driveway.

Lucky we don't have to be on contract. We found someone who agreed to have us pay per trip and he doesn't come unless it is over 3 inches.

We only get it about once a year and it does not stick for long. We had some snow last year that stayed for a while.

13 inches

second highest in the area.

The higest total nearby was 15 inches.

We had half a month's average worth of snow fall between 4:00 p.m. yesterday and 4:00 a.m. this morning.

On the bright side it is good for our County as it does have a ski resort that hasn't gotten much business in the past few years. Not to mention the plow drivers both private and public, who again have had some lean years. It is also good for those who enjoy winter sports. I don't happen to be one of them but I enjoy looking at the snow and playing with my dog in it. She loves it.

Shoveling it, however, and cleaning it off my car are both pains.

After 15years in Honeoye. On top of a mountain. Welll, big hill.

The snow was like a couple of planting zones lower than the flatlands. I have a pic from one year when my friend with the heavy excavation business came with his monster backhoe!

Now I'm in the flatlands and we got a foot - foot and a half!

I got a thrill seeing you're from the Fingerlakes!
