Same here with the toys. Baskets and boxes full and yet they go bonkers for the little plastic tab pulled from a carton of milk that we toss on the floor.

3. The great thing is, they will eventually go back to the old toys.

I'll buy my cat toys. She'll either play with them for a short while, and then ignore them. Or, she will turn her nose up at them straight-out. Then they get ignored for years. She has recently started digging toys out of her toy box that she never touched when they were new. I am finding them all over the house. The only toy she never tires of is Da Bird.

I guess they are still made. Soft fuzzy stuff on a length of wire that were used to clean out men's tobacco pipes.

I would twist three together at the middle and curve the ends to look like the legs of a spider. Pepper loved them. And I mean LOVED them. She would spend more time batting them around than any other toy.

But if she had it in the kitchen it would soon be lost under the stove or fridge. Time to twist another. I had to move the fridge once to check for a leak and there were a dozen 'spiders' under there.

You ignore all those toys and play with pens, grasping them with your paws and moving them around on those dried leaves, while you focus intently at what you're doing. Obviously you must think the pen is the best toy.

She still shreds the plants, loves to tear apart cardboard, and will play with ANYTHING. Nothing is safe. My books have tooth marks. I have to pick up everything she's knocked onto the floor several times a day. She's figured out how to open every cupboard and drawer in the house. Her favorite cat toy is this one:

It makes a hissy, squeaky sound, has a body to sink her teeth into, rope arms and legs for extra interest, and she can, and does, take it anywhere. I can tell where she's been spending time by where I find it next.
