(26,591 posts)i took the DUI backroads to the next town over and into the next county this morning to make groceries.
from my house to the county line was pure shit, once you crossed over, i guess they salt over there, nice clean roads.
anywho, the state highway that goes to the other town where they have services and white castle is pretty well traveled, but there's no lights and tons of deer creatures that love walking in front of vehicles.
but thanks, now i want white castles.

(82,333 posts)PennDOT did a decent job in my county.
Now I want White Castle too but the nearest one is 41.3 miles.
60 mi out from chicago.
IDOT hits the major state routes and the US highways. but i usually travel the county highways. and for whatever reason, the county i live in seems like a bunch of cheapskates, but then we don't have as many chicago suburban and exurban towns like they do.
plus we're further out in farm country.

(26,591 posts)hit mickey d's in my town instead.
i forget that new years weekend brings out heavy enforcement.
i can deal with our local keystone kops - i live here, but i ain't much for getting roadblock checked.
they always end up running my shit and my very common name always pulls a bunch of flags and it turns into an ordeal.

that's where the law hangs out.
if you're not obviously drunk or high, they're pretty good guys, they give you pro tips about what's going on.
