(4,056 posts)...and I am NOT an Ophuckitall! Whatever that is. I'm a Saj thru and thru, proudly loud, obnoxious and critical-thinking.
An Ophiuchus is prolly some jelly-spined quiet type. So much for stupid Nasa!

(3,070 posts)I was born Dec. 10. As an official Ophiucus, I'm proud to be placed in the proper point in space. I'm an amateur astronomer and when I got into the hobby I noticed that my birthday didn't fall within the boundary of Sagittarius. Since then I've always called myself an Ophiucus. We are like Sagittarius only we taste better and have less bullshit in us than those otherguys.
And the dates of the astrological signs were established during the time of Ptolemy, who believed that Earth was the center of our Solar System. Nobody has updated the boundaries since then.
And as the official astronomer par excellence for DU, I feel it is necessary to point out that astrology is fun, but is complete B.S.

(426 posts)I'm a Leo in the regular, western Zodiac, but that description never worked for me. I'm a total Cancer, using Vedic/Hindu astrology. Me....a homebody, bake my own bread, love to cook, close to my family, sensitive, moody crab! I even prefer their birth stone to the one for Leo!
Actually, that's how I got into Astrology in the first place, because I was trying to debunk it. When I started using the right Zodiac, and the right sign, it all fit to a tee.

That's just wrong - I'm going back to ignoring astrology.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
