(3,502 posts)1. That litle gray and white kitten
looks just like my first kitten (not the first cat I ever met, but the first who ever owned me). That must have been...well over 50 years ago.

(72,300 posts)2. Indeed
I remember all of my first times. Cats have been part of my life since birth.

(54,770 posts)3. I was dog person until my 50s. When my father-in-law died, we ended up with a 15 year old cat.
I found him really interesting and just cool. Now have a 6 year old that is just as cool, and seems better adjusted than me.
I still like dogs, but dogs are not acrobats, are noisy, can't take care of themselves when home bound, require leash walking in city, etc.
Nice/cute photos.

(50,566 posts)5. My family had a beautiful long-haired kitty boy when I was born
so I only remember always loving kitties. At one point when I was growing up we had about seven indoor/outdoor kitties (all stray rescues) and fed a couple feral strays.
I currently have three and I've realized that is our minimum. We had two for awhile and it just wasn't enough fur and purr for us.
