That can't be good. The beltways will be a mess. talkingmime Mar 2013 #6
Beltways? WilliamPitt Mar 2013 #8
I-495 and I-128 - okay, they're only half beltways. You'd need a REALLY long bridge to complete them talkingmime Mar 2013 #9

We referred to the "inner loop" (clockwise from the air) and "outer loop" (counter-clockwise) and everyone knew what that meant. They turned, I think 198, not sure, into the "Inter-county connector" rather than calling it the "outer beltway" like 495 in Boston. If any city in the world needed an outer beltway it was DC. Their 495 is about as disfunctional as disfunctional gets, especially at the seven turns near the Morman Disney Land castle. I'm glad I don't have to drive there very often. It's a multi-car pile-up waiting to happen - and that's on a good day.

The plows had to back off because the streets got flooded with commuters driving to work. I live on a street that's a fire lane, so we always get plowed first, and they haven't been by since 7am.

Ergo, the buses are running, but I imagine they're struggling like everything else. The T is doing fine.

I like when they fly in formation with one using a cow-catcher format and the flanking trucks using a double-sweep. They can knock out a 4-lane highway in short order, and at nearly highway speeds!
