The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI have realized i miss Miami :(
Not the place, but the people.
So much more diversity and acceptence, over there you don't get judged for having an accent like we do up here.
Some asshole at a private post office place asked me if I was kgb. Jockingly, of course, but its not fuking funny
I'm not even Russian.
Also, I have extreamly unqualified co workers who also pick on my accent.
Maybe ill move back to Miami afterall. I'm sick of redneck bigotry.

(13,985 posts)I should've walked out of that place in an instant and taken my bussines elsewhere. That would've never ever happened in Miami. I know cuz I lived there over 16 years.

(30,947 posts)I lived there for most of my life and finally moved up to the North Georgia area. I don't know how I lasted that long. Too many big bugs, too much heat and humidity and too much crime. I'll take the rednecks any day instead of some of the idiots in Miami.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
