Man bites Daytona police chief's hand during Bike Week scuffle

A man attacked Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood and bit him on the hand during a Bike Week scuffle on Saturday night, authorities said.

The man approached the chief at about 6 p.m. on Main Street and said he knew his rights and he could arrest or even kill cops if necessary, said Jimmie Flynt, a police spokesman.

Flynt said Chitwood tried to walk away, but the man spit on him. When Chitwood turned back to make an arrest, the two got into a scuffle, and Chitwood hit his head on a parked motorcycle. The man also bit the chief on his right hand.

The man was arrested, and Chitwood was taken to Halifax Medical Center. He was treated for the bite and released.

I'll give the guy a pass on not knowing this particular cop was the police chief. The guy was probably 3 sheets to the wind and/or very high.
