John Sinclair was the manager of The MC5 and the "head" of The White Panther Party.

.
.
.
This had NOTHING to do with white supremacy -- it was an anarchistic revolutionary group
organized to help The Black Panther Party.
.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of two joints.
.
A lot of people (myself included) and international human rights groups considered him to
be a political prisoner. I remember attending a LOT of benefits to raise money to get him
freed.
.
Finally happened, though he spent two years in prison. His release was such big news that
it was covered lived on local TV. A reporter asked him what his plans were... and he said
"the first thing I'm going to do is go home and smoke a big fat joint". His attorney almost
wrestled him away from the press and into his limo.
