(2,165 posts)I've always loved the album covers he did for Yes, and his other work is well worth looking up.

(10,129 posts)The textured plasctic that animated the images.. brilliance.. of course, they upped the ante with the stereoscopic cover of 10,000 Days.

(26,117 posts)(As an aside, that 10,000 Days is particularly interesting to me, as I collect antique stereo cards & other vintage 3-D up images)

(10,129 posts)I thought it was a great album, but then, I loved the slide into "prog metal" they were on to begin with.. a lot of my friends and fellow musicians wanted the old, angry Tool back, but damn.. from "Third Eye" on, I was totally down for whatever they wanted to experiment with.

(26,117 posts)I usually appreciate it when a band can expand their musical expression - I always thought that would be more fulfilling for the artists than sticking exclusively to the same style. I also think music can be powerful without being aggressive - which is probably why I like prog rock as well as melodic death metal.

"Fetch me the Spirit, the Son and the Father. Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended. It's time now, my time now.. give me my, give me my wings!"
Gives me goosebumps every time...
